Raimonds Bramanis

Raimonds Bramanis is one of the leading tenors of the Latvian National Opera. In 2007, he graduated from the J. Vitols Latvian Academy of Music. Since then, he has participated in many masterclasses and has continued to develop his vocal prowess under the guidance of italian vocal coach Paolo de Napoli.

Raimonds Bramanis made his debut at the LNOB in 2008 as a baritone in the role of Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Since then, he has sung Nemorino (L’Elisir d'Amore), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), the Prince (The Love for Three Oranges), Ismaele (Nabucco), Alfredo Germont (La Traviata), Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Macduff and Malcolm (Macbeth), Roberto (Le Villi), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Lensky (Eugene Onegin), the Architect (Ē. Ešenvalds’ The Immured), Rodolfo (La bohème) and the title role in Gounod`s Faust, Camille de Rossillon ( Die lustige Witwe) and Števa Buryja in Leoš Janaček`s Jenufa.

Raimonds has portrayed Alfredo Germont in Magdeburg, Germany and Tallinn, Estonia. In 2011, he performed with the soprano Dinara Alieva at the Prague State Opera conducted by Maestro Ratislav Štúr. He was part of a concert production of Verdi’s Otello together with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Karel Mark Chichon.

In 2015, he was awarded the “Latvijas Gāze” Annual Award for Opera 2015 as Best Opera Soloist. In 2019, he created the major role of Tots for the contemporary Latvian opera I played, I danced by composer Imants Kalnins and was nominated for the best singer in Latvia. In 2019, he sang Duca in Rigoletto with the Hong Kong Opera Company. His Faust at the Aalto Opera Essen was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but he managed to sung it in October 2022.

In 2021, he jumped into Tartu Opera’s production of Donizetti’s Linda di Chamounix, where he sang the lead tenor role Carlo. Raimonds made his debut as Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca and sang the title role in the Latvian opera Hamlet composed by Jānis Kalniņš (1935) as well as Gabriele Adorno in Verdi’s Simone Boccanegra at the Latvian National Opera.

Raimonds begun the 2022/23 season with the Vana Tallinn Gala 10 at the Estonia National Opera conducted Vello Pähn. This fall, he will sing Maurizio in Adriana Lecouvreur by Francesco Cilea.
